hey!
well today, unlike yesterday, was very busy.
i was up at nine and started getting ready for this afternoons international au pair thing.
we all had to get in ur country groups and make a presentation like thing for all our host familys to come and look at.
so i got a pavlova and a lamington recipe ready on a disc, got dressed and went to staples (officeworks) to get them printed. and i needed a piece of white cardboard as well - but of course that was impossible.
turns out that in america you can buy one giant arse piece of foam board for $5 or a pack of ten "card stock" for $5.. like what the hell. i only need one piece!
so i went to micheals - the art and craft store - and they had it! hallelujah!
then i got a coffee from dunkin donuts, because i still hadnt had time to eat, and then went to stop and shop to get a loaf of bread - 99 cents baby.. love it.
then i went to laurens where she made an australian animal and famous landmarks slideshow, i made a huge poster with all different facts about australia, and then fairy bread and vegemite on bread.
so we finally finished and rushed to the place and got there at three - we were half an hour late..
and we set our table up with the poster stuck on the wall with the table in front of it with a map of the world and a giant arrow pointing to australia leaning against the wall. then the flag was hanging on the front of the table with a giant blow up kangaroo off to the side. and we had our slide show going with the land down under song playing through it, and we had our recipes and the food, and tattoos and boomerang colouring-ins, and a little afl footy.. it was really good!
but very boring... it went for like two hours and i was so tired.
then we finally got to leave at 5:30.. i got petrol on the way home at a citgo and paid $3.69 a gallon and then when i left i drove past a mobil that had $3.75 a gallon.. rip off.
so now i am home, ready to shower, and go to bed.
goodnight! xo
