hello!
today is thanksgiving! and i am so full, it is unbelieveable.
i dont think i could fit a single crumb into my stomach right now.
this morning the kids got up before me, even though they didnt go to bed until 11!
we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then watched tv before getting ready for the feast.
the kids and i cleaned up the house and the basement (that was trashed) then all put our "church clothes" on and did our hair etc..
once i had the kids ready we watched the macys thanksgiving parade on tv - you know the one with all the gigantic balloons thats on movies - and then i started my share of cooking - mashed potatoes.
it was the most i had ever made before - a whole bag full :O
oh and on the turkeys they have a 'pop up' button that pops up guess when the turkey is ready. and karen couldnt find it on ours, so she thought they didnt make them like that anymore.. but then when we turned the turkey over in the oven we realised she put the turkey in upside down haha
in the meantime matt cracked his foot down on the handle of the cheese and crackers dish and smashed it, handy lol
by the time we ate it was around three and there was turkey with gravey and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, butternut pumpin, corn, salad and bread rolls.
and then pumpin pie (delicious!).. i had never had it before.. well i dont think i have, and my pavlova! which was perfect. but the berries for the top were still frozen because we forgot to get them out of the freezer so i was trying to thaw them in a pot of hot hot hot water while still in the bag, but that was taking too long, so i used the microwave, resulting in them being very saucy so when i put them on the pav it looked like it was "dying" - according to rachel.
then after we cleaned up we sat around watching monsters inc and eating pistachios.
now i have had a shower, made a cuppa and am ready to watch an apisode of slide and then go to sleep.
i am so tired. goodnight xo
