hello!
school went back today!
it was so weird being at home, in silence, not yelling, not breaking up fights...
so the kids went off to school, looking adorable.
and then i cleaned up the house and watched pretty little liars in bed, and then i stayed there, all day pretty much.
just hanging out, watching tv, playing my ipod... enjoying the aloneness.
so the kids came home and we went through the ten tonnes of stuff they brought home.. but most of it was for karen.
then the kids decided i wasnt good enough to play with lol so they went bike riding with the kids in the street, and i hung out with harrison inside (because he is older, he doesn't "play" with the street kids much)
i made dinner, got half the kids showered, and then i finished.
oh and i got a package from grandma today! with tim tams and coffee, crafty paper people, a photo of me and pa and a pen - so i will write her some snail mail lol
which i will now do, because i have a fancy pants pen.
well i am going to shower and relax now.. not that i really need it, but still lol

16.
hello!
so i made it! i made it through almost three months of summer holidays with four kids!
i'm brilliant right? haha
so this morning the kids decided they didnt want to do anything at all all day, so i let them, because it was their last day of freedom.
so they bummed around while i did the washing and cleaning etc, then we played in the basement and managed to trash it again, so i shall clean it tomorrow.
matt and rach had a playdate with the girl across the street while i watched a movie with the boys.
and then we picked up the sticks and small branches that were all over the front yard from the "hurricane"...
and it was a nightmare. talk about hard labour.
they were whining about doing it and throwing the sticks at each other and chasing each other with rakes lol
and then harrison snuck off with one of his friends back to his place, the little devil, so i called them up and got him sent back home, and i was so tired by the end of it. rach was the only one who actually did it, no questions asked. she was like a little stick picking up machine... doing it faster then i could rake them into piles.
and then i took them to maccas for dinner. they all sat with their eyes glued to the tv while eating - not even looking away to see their food. its insane at how robotic kids become when a tv is on.
so i just sat back and read my cosmo that came in the mail today.
then we came home and i went to starbucks..
lauren and i dropped by stop and shop to get some hair treatments and face masks, which i will test out tomorrow, alone, in a nice quiet and peaceful house...
well im off to bed. goodnight! xxxxx

hey!
so i have been here for 150 days. woah.
almost half way now..
so today.. i only had the older boys this morning, which was blissfully quiet.
and they didn't get out of bed until 9:30 so that was also a bonus.
i got alot of the cleaning done before they even came down for breakfast.
and then the twins came home and i got all the kids ready for karen's work's comapny picnic at lake compounce (a theme park).
then i drove them to a swap over point and karen took the van with the kids and i brought her car home.
i stopped to get a few grocerys on the way, by myself, so i wasn't chasing after kids, telling them not to touch anything, breaking up fights etc.. it was such a peaceful stop and shop experience.
then i came home and made vegemite scrolls - delicious if i say so myself. not as good as brumbys, but close enough.
watched a movie called 'source code' which was fairly awesome.
washed the kiddies lunchboxes ready for school, made their lunches, read a magazine and then checked my emails only to find that school is cancelled tomorrow! damnnnnnnnnnn. so all that was for nothing.
it isn't on because of the hurricane - i am guessing the power is still out or the grounds are too messy? not sure.
but anyways, i will have all four at home for one final day.
now i am still home alone, everyone should be back any minute now.

hey!
so today was the BIG DAY, that hurricane irene would come and wreck havoc.. ha' hardly.
it was one big huge day of nothing where i live.
the wind barely reached 30km/h, it rained here and there, and it was pretty much just an average stormy day.
could not believe it. i was actually excited to see trees blowing wildly in the wind... but no.
and i live on a mainish road which is normally quite loud but today was extremely quiet because no one was driving anywhere.
and so all day i stayed inside.
i woke up at 4am this morning and skyped with mum for a bit on my ipod, and watched the weather channel to see what was going on, then went back to sleep.
woke at at eight and still nothing much was going on weather wise, woke up again at almost 12..
then i just watched tv and facebooked, waiting for irenes arrival.
nothing, slept again, 3pm nothing, 4pm nothing...
and so then we decided we would go out and do something. so lauren, alex, julia, linnea and i went to chilis for dinner.
before hand we went to stop and shop to get a few things and all the employees and randoms were standing outside the shop, so i wound down my window to see what was going on, and the fire alarm had been set off - falsely though. so left we left..
we get to chilis, order, have our drinks and the power went out.
so we had to go. we were going to go to the movies but the power was out there too, so we went to the ialian place and there was an hour wait. so we went to friendlys and the line was out the door.
the reason so many people were out to dinner is because heaps of people lost power.. therefore not being able to cook dinner.
so we went to five guys burgers and fries, and it wasn't super busy..
best burgers!
then we went back to stop and shop which also had no power, but you could still shop. (there were like back up lights on)
and so i got hair treatment and soap and a face mask and then get to the check out at the lady says they are doing cash only... super.
i never ever ever carry cash with me.
so i had to leave it all behind.
and now i am home drinking a cuppa and watching the VMA's on MTV.

hey!
so it is currently 'pre-irene'.. everyone is barcing for the hurricane tomorrow.
which i will let you all know is just like a cyclone, it will be category one, wind speeds of up to 91 kilometres per hour, a whole lot of rain and that is pretty much it.
we have plenty of food and drinking water, our toilets/showers and everything will still work even if the power goes out, we have torches and candles, and i have two and a half books to keep me occupied.
we won't even need to go in the basement unless things are actively flying around outside - which they won't be. so you can all take a deep breath now and calm yourselves (yes you grandma) because everything will be okay :)
so this morning i woke up at a leisurely hour of 10:30.. read some of my book and facebooked for a while.
tried to wort out tonight because we were supposed to be having a sleepover at the mansion but because of the stupid hurricane no one can use their cars and the news said everyone has to be where they need to be until monday by sundown tonight and there is a ban on driving tomorrow...
sooooo we can't have the sleepover.
then lauren picked me up, we got julia and we on our way to pick up robyn (who lives at the mansion) to go to our au pair monthly meeting.
so its pissing down rain, there are massively huge puddles on the road, so we were driving as slow as a wet week, then we got lost because a street sign had been spun around so that the streets were facing their opposite actually street, therefore causing us to turn when we didnt have to... i thought it was hilarious when we worked it out.
finally found her house, then had to go on a detour from the highway because there was a huge accident, and by the time we got to lasertag we were almost an hour late.
but that was okay. and then we played.
it was so much fun!
it this big huge dark room with flashing lights and loud music, and we were three different teams.
i could have played all day long.
in the first game i got 6th from 12 and in the second i got 4th from 12. impressive right?
and then we left and picked up chinese for dinner, i got dropped home, ate myself into a food coma, had a shower and now i am relaxing all night. until irene starts up around three in the morning... the bad part will come around lunch.

hello australia!
busy washing day today.. i had to wash all the boys clothes and stuff they took camping because everything was wet and muddy from the rain..
and we cleaned the basement, so when the time come to bunker down we wont have to sit on top of match box cars and pretend food.
and we brought all the kids toys and stuff from the sandpit into the garage so they don't blow away.
but other then that we pretty much just played outside all day because it was so nice and sunny.
then the twins got picked upto go to their dads and the boys and i went to get petrol - waited for about 20 minutes in the 50 car line up,a nd it didn't help that everyone had about three jerry cans to fill up as well as their car, went to stop and shop to get soup because thats all i can eat at due to the lack of opening my mouth will perform at the moment, and there was no bread, milk, water, fruit and veges left - because everyone is freaking out majorly.
came home and watched tv with the boys until karen got home and then i skyped with mum.
now i am just chilling for the night.

hello!
so the hurricane really is a comin'..
will hit connecticut on sunday..
and because of it, the new york city cruise has been postponed until fall :(
booooooo. BUT
there is a plus side, which i will get to in a moment...
so this morning it was just the twins and i again, so the house was nice and quiet.
we just hung around the house until 10ish and then went to get joanne (kids grandma) to go to target.
we brought a new bookcase and photo frames and decorative things for her new and improved office, and the kids got toys and i just kept it all under control.
while we were there rach was skipping on her skipping rope the whole time, trying to beat her record..
lucky the aisles were wide, because she almost took out a few peoples eyes..
then we had lunch, a very cheap lunch...
because americans can never be somewhere without having a food place attached, like the starbucks and pizza hut attached to target, we had lunch right after we went throught the check out.. and it was only $3 for a kids meal!
so then i dropped joanne and the kdis off at her house and went to the dentist, sigh.
well first i went to the wrong dentist! can you freakin believe it?! sooooo embarrassing.
so i walk in, and say i have an appointment for 2:40 for danielle, and she is like, uhmm noooo there is no appointment schedualed. so i am thinking, great, just great, she didnt put it in the system this morning, and then she is like, are you sure this is the right dentist, there is one across the road.. I COULD HAVE DIED!
i was just like, oh uhm sorry about that... pretty much ran out the door. and to make it worse, there were people in the waiting room listening the whole time!
so i went across the road, and, sure enough, i had an appointment.
(oh by the way, tuesday night my wisdom tooth started hurting again, and by wednesday morning my inside cheek was all swollen up - hence the dentist appointment - because i freaked myself out when i was googling it)
and he has put me on anti biotics and given me this medicated mouth rinse but says that it will just keep getting infected and i need it taken out, and blah blah... gave me a treatment plan - i may as well just sell everything i own... and it MAY just cover how much it will cost, because of course he wants to take out all four at once!
so this is the good side to the cruise postponment.. i wont have to party in pain or while taking drugs.. prescription drugs that is.
so then i put in my prescription at walgreens, went back to hang with the kdis until matt and harrison got dropped off and then we came home by 6. i skyped with mum.
made dinner, ate my dinner while what could have quite possibley hurt as much as a jack hammer pounded into my jaw, and now i am reading my book.
which is a kate brian book called - megan meade's guide to the McGowan boys. and it is so good!
well i hope you have a good day...
while i cry myself to sleep because my mouth hurts so much.. haha kidding, don't worry, i will be fine.

hey!
so i survived the earthquake - am now bracing myself for a hurricane.
i am a natural disaster magnet apparently.
it is supposed to come sometime in the next few days.
but its only categorie one, so it won't tear off peoples roofs or anything. and besides, we have a basement :)
so this morning i woke up and the twins were both still asleep so i just read in bed until rach came in for snuggles, and then G woke up at 9 and we went downstairs for breakfast.
chilled out at home all morning after our hectic day yesterday, then we had lunch, went to the library, took the kids to get their hair cut.
so it was at 'snip-its' a kids hairdresser, and there are screens for them to play games while they are getting their hair cut and then they put these "visitor passes"and a bit of their hair into this machine and it makes a noise and then spits out a toy for them.. so cute.
and when we left and got in the car, i had just shut their door and was about to go and rach looked at G and says "garrett your hair looks splendid" hahahaha! it was adorable.
then we went to the pool. it was freezing. the water was okay but the wind was making icicles on us..
then we came home, i made dinner and now i am finished and ready to watch pretty little liars from last night!

hey!
so you may have heard about the earthquake today? it was in virginia, but apparently the shocks were felt here? i didn't feel a thing though lol
we were in the loungeroom watching a movie before we went to the playground and nothing. not even a giggle.
i didn't even know it happened until i heard something about it on the radio in the car an hour later.
so no, i am not hurt at all. lucky for all of you ;)
so back to todays events, apart from the natural disaster -
this morning i got everything cleaned up and the kids dressed and ready. then i packed harrison and matthews bags because they are going camping with thier grandpa until thursday.. so we got all that sorted and then went to drop some stuff to goodwill (like vinnies), stopped at at&t to switch my phone to a $50 month unlimited calls and texts (because i was sick of the bulls*** of paying for incoming texts and calls) and then we went to the library, i got the sixth book in the 'privilage' series and all the other single books that kate brian has written.
then we got some snacks for the kids to take camping with them, came home andhad lunch, watched a movie while we waited for th boys to get picked up (whilst the earthquake was happening) and then i took the twins for a playdate with lauren, tanja and ilona's kids at the playground..
and then we went to the pool until 5.
stopped at stop and shop to get veges for dinner, came home and cooked stirfry which had brocolli, zuchini, green beans and carrots in it with rice and beef, and the kids actually ate it! all of it! i am so proud. four veges in one night.. woah.
then robyn picked me up (i pretty much flew out the door as soon as karen got home because we were late) for christina's final goodbye - she leaves on thursday :(
so we sat around and talked and ate and said our farwells then went to starbucks at nine.
met a whole other lot of new au pairs, all of them are really nice, and now i am home and sooooo ready to sleep. i can't believe how tired i am.

met a whole other lot of new au pairs, all of them are really nice, and now i am home and sooooo ready to sleep. i can't believe how tired i am.

hello!
monday... oh monday, such a busy day.
so the two older boys were still with their dad, which was nice, so very very quiet and calm this morning..
i got all the housework and washing done and then i sat with the twins while they did their summer 'don't forget anything i taught you' work books.
then we had lunch and went to blue fox rock'n'bowl, for bowling and mini golf.
so get this right.. we get there and bowling is closed.
strange because the reason we went on a monday is because on the website it states that 'monday special - play 1 game of bowling and mini golf and get an icecream for $9.95 each'... so i tell the girl at the mini golf and she is like 'uhm no that is any day' so i said that it said it was a monday special, but no, i she says that it doesn't say that, evennnnnn though the customer is ALWAYS right, and i am freakin right!
geeeezzzz.
so we just played golf instead. got through 18 holes, a major temper tantrum, about five lost golf balls, and six screaming kids... but in the end, all was good.
we all got an icecream, which rachel dropped before she got in the car - and the tantrum started all over again, ending in her crying her little self to sleep on the way home - and then we all had a little rest on the lounge.
the boys got home, the twins went for a playdate, the boys and i played "chase and destroy danielle" and then it was time for me to cook dinner...
then robyn picked me up and we got lauren and then went to west hartford to the sushi train.
so we are driving along the highway, get to a traffic jam because of roadworks, and there is an ambulance in front of us, with a person inside! in the bed, hurt, going to the hospital, in the back! but they didn't have their lights on, and they were driving as slow as everyone else, which is super weird..
because if it was urgent enough to call the ambos then shouldn't it be urgent enough for lights and fast and the furious, not driving miss daisy?
then we got to dinner! it was delicious. i looked forward to it all day long.
went to the cheescake factory (not an actual factory, it is infact a resteraunt, stupid right) to get a slice of cheesecake for dessert. i got carrot cake cheesecake.. best dessert ever!
and then i got dropped home and i am ready to fall asleep.

hey!
well i slept in because today is sunday. 11:30 seemed like a good time to start my, not so eventful day.
i had cherrios for breakfast, watched tv, had a shower, watched a bit more tv..
then there was this huge storm, lightening, thunder, pouring rain - the whole package. so that lasted about an hour or so..
tonight we were supposed to go to a sushi train for dinner but christina got stuck in maine because of the weather (and it was for her, because she leaves on thursday) so we postponed until tomorrow.
and then lauren and i were going to go and get frozen yogurt, but she cancelled, so i skyped with stephyg.. and it was hilarious. she was eating cherry tomatoes and kept squeezing them and they kept exploding all over her.. hahahah
and then we played 'hanging with friends' against each other on our ipods/iphones. she is currently kicking my butt.
and now i am watching 'dear john' before i go to bed.
i need my rest because tomorrow is monday, the worst day ever. lol
buttttt i get sushi for dinner, so thats a plus!

hello!
saturday morning.. oh the joy.
i slept until 10, got up, dressed and fed by 10:45 and then emma was here to pick me up to go shopping!
so we went to westfarms mall, it has everything, and we shopped.
i was looking for a dress specifically - for the new york city cruise next saturday night - but of course, i brought everything BUT a dress. typical.
i got a really nice, brown vintage looking bag, and a long sleeve roll up button down cream shirt for over singlets from H&M, a cute white with cut outs shirt from forever 21 and a shirt for chloe and a pinkish patterned singlet for me from pacsun. and we had lunch at the best little place, i had a turkey salad sandwhich - so yum.
then she dropped me home at about 2:30 because she had to work this afternoon, so i had a nanna nap until 4:30.
then i got up and went shopping again - because i still didn't have a dress - to the farmington shoppes.
looked at a couple of little boutiques, american eagle and kohls - nothing. a whole lot of zippo.
it seems that in america you either can buy a super casual dress or an over the top i am going to a ball dress. nothing that just says 'i'm a nice little sexy dress that you can wear in new york on a cruise'.
so i went to marshells, good old marshells, and i found a dress!
i am not 100% settled on it.. i did buy it though because it was only $14, but i still might wear something i already have..
then i met lauren at the movies and we saw 'the help'... such a great movie.. i was crying and laughing. and it was just great. grandma and aunty elana - you should see it together.
then we were starved so we went to subway - closed - of course, went to maccas, sat in there until 11, because they are open until midnight and then just the drive thru is open 24 hours.
so i came home, skyped with mum and got a tour of the new house! which i love!
andnow i am about to have a shower, and hit the hay.
hope you ahev a day as good as mine was!

hello!
finished book #5 this morning while i was waiting for the kids to wake up..
and now i dont have anything to read.. the 2nd prequel and conclusion book for 'private' and the sixth book from 'privilage' arn't out at the library yet :( so upsetting.
so last night i forgot to tell you about the massive storm we had - a lightening storm.. the whole sky was almost constantly lit up for about 15 minutes... and i was in a car, handy.
and i missed jersey shore! so i am now waiting for the re-run on mtv in 40 minutes! woo!
so to today -
slow start, got the washing done, and the towels, packed the older boys stuff for their dads house, made beds, cleaned rooms, swept the floor... and then it was about 11:30.
so we started a pillow fight, with about every pillow we could find, upstairs in the kids room, when the phone rang and the kids aunty invited us to the movies, so i got the kids dressed from their 'play' clothes into their 'we are such cute kids, and we are going to the movies' clothes.
then we went to stop and shop to, secretly, buy food for the movie - screw paying $6 for a packet of lollies.
and we saw the new spy kids in 4D, which is smell!!!! you get a scratch and sniff card before you go in.. and when the number pops up on the screen you scratch that number and "its just like being in the movie" although i thought all 8 smeels, smelt the same.
then we came home and the boys went to their dads so the twins and i played trivia for kids.. they are so smart! i would ask things that i thought they wouldn't know the answer too, and they always did!
then rachel was chasing me around the house, so i ran upstairs and hid in my wardrobe and she didn't come for ages, so i snuck out and she was bending over looking under G's bed, so i made a big yell noise behind her and scared the crap out of her... it was hilarious!
then we played simon says and watched river monsters on tv until their pizza was ready.
so karen came home, i finished work..
i skyped briefly with mum, talked to dad on his phone, through mums skype and now i am just waiting for jersey shore.. so excited!
and its friday! which means no work for two days! and i can sleep in! yay!

hey!
finished book #3 this morning, and then started and finished #4 by the time i went out tonight.. #5 is about 10 pages in... just so you all know my current reading status.
so this morning after cleaning everything up the kids and i got ready for a long day..
first we went to camp chase (the camp they were at for the last two weeks) to see if we could find matt's hat in the lost property.. about fifty three drink bottles.. but no hat.
so then it was off to canton library to return some books, but they had a performance on, so we decided to stay. it was this older lady and man who sang and did dances to kids songs that they made up and we would sing and dance along with them... it was so much fun - i think i enjoyed it more then the kids - and then the kids all got cakes, which before being cut up, were octupuses and dragons and aliens and all sorts of awesome things.
so after a not so quick book drop off at the library, it was time for lunch, so we came home and had lunch and then were off again..
dropped off clothes at the kids consignment (the place that sells old clothes for you) and then to stop and shop, because i had about one spray of deodorant left..
so heres the thing - in australia spray deodorant is widely available, almost everyone uses it - here they dont. at all. it is a rarity. because while at stop and shop, standing in the right aisle, i was thinking 'my god, got enough roll on' so we went to walgreens drugstore (the chemist) instead - same thing, only roll on - so i asked a lady and she is like 'no sorry we don't sell it' crazzzzyyyyyyyyyyy! can you even believe it?! so i am a roll on girl now..
i also got toothepaste because the one i have, which cost $1.79, is a whitening paste with peroxide and baking soda or something and i think it is the cause for my sore gums and tip of my tongue.. they only started to hurt after usuing the toothepaste, strange.
then we went to the farmington library, just to read and play, for about two hours, got milk on the way home, then played in the sandpit until 6, when i made dinner..
i put on the dvd we got from redbox for the kids 'hoodwinked two' and read until karen got home.
then linnea picked me up and we met robyn, christina and rosa at taco bell (my first time!) for dinner. you can get like 5 tacos for $3.. it is so cheap, no wonder america eat out so much..
it was okay, wouldn't go back there again for food.
and then had a good old chat with karen when i got home, who has poison ivy all over her.. which sucks to be her right now, shes says it itches like crazy..
now i am showered and about to sleep.
i will quickly tell you though that in america you can go into school grounds whenever you want. there are no big arse fences around them, and you can use the running tracks at the high schools and the jungle gyms at little schools... unlike in australia where everything is locked up and you get fined for "trespassing"..

hello everyone!
another slow start today.. the kids are liking their sleep ins, but whos complaining - not me.. more time to read. i finished book #2 and started #3 this afternoon.
so the kids and i watched tv for a while then played 'house' in a couple of old cardboard boxes, went in the basement and played (which i have given up cleaning everyday, the kids just trash it two hours later anyways) and then we had lunch.
went to the pool for a few hours, came home and cooked dinner and then i was finished! had a nice hot shower, did my hair and now i am relaxing.
just sitting and listening to the silence.. so joyful.
and guess what?! i just saw an ad on tv for bambi two coming out on dvd! how exciting.. everyone loves bambi!
my aim is to go to bed before 10 tonight.. fingers crossed!

hello!
well this morning was off to an unusual slow start.. the kids didn't get out of bed until about 9:30, except harrison who got up at 8 when i did. so then we did breakfast and then played volleyball around the house. did a puzzle, and a bead thing, played with playdoh - which rachel put her putty into the spaghetti maker - and so that was great getting it out.
then we had lunch, went down to one of the bike trails/walking paths, which actually goes like all through here and up into massachussetts or something like that. just one big arse, never ending track.
and we rode about 2 miles (3 and a bit kms) on the bikes to the kids grandmas, where they had icecream and i ate frozen grapes, yummo.
then i left rach there for a sleepover, brought the boys home and their dad took them for a couple of hours, so i read my book, started #2 in the spin off, because i finished #1 while eating breakfast.
then i made spag bol for dinner, finished work, went to starbucks, which, on the way, i was stopped at traffic lights turning left, the light turns green and then lane next to me which was going straight had a red light but the guy next to me just went. he just drove straight through a red light.. some people just think they can do whatever they like.
so alot of new girls at starbucks - so hard to remember all their names - and heaps of the girls from our group are going home in the next two weeks, so sad :(

hey!
i have decided to just write 1, 2 ,3 etc for the next two weeks until school goes back.. because i can't think of any titles - and school going back seems like a good goal day.
summer has gone so quickly. it seems like yesterday that they came home and it was there last day of school.
so this morning, busy busy.. i had to clean the house whilst watching/making sure they dont kill each other/feed/play volleyball/watch sections of cartoons.. all at the same time. talk about exhusting. so then we had lunch, after they made me play wars and forts in the basement and only once i had "captured" them, would they eat lunch.. so that was fun.
then we went to the library for a few hours, the kids were so tired by the time we finished.
i got new books! its a series spin off from the 'private' series, there are 6 of them.. half way through book #1 at the moment.
so we came home from the library, played 'peg the beachball while running away from each other' until dinner was ready. then the kids watched tv, i read my book, and then karen was home and i was finished.
just thought i would tell you a couple of fun facts -
they don't have giveway signs here. ever. and if they did, they would say 'yield' hahaha, like your commanding a dog or something. so yeah, just stop signs..such an inconvienience.
and if your not on a mobile plan, like i'm not, you have to pay for recieved and sent texts and calls. such bull. so everytime i get a text, its 20 cents. eugh.
on another note, i am almost out of deoderant.. better do something about that.
and i recommendation - loreal paris, derma genesis toner.. soooo nice! my face feels like a babys bum. you should all try it.
oh i did skype with mother bear tonight too!

sunday laziness..
hello!
so after my cuppa and toast, i showered, made myself smell nice, braided my hair and watched transformers three. well i am technically still watching it now, because it is soooooo long!
had a little nap while listening to the rain, such good weather to stay in bed.
and then the boys stole my wallet, i stole it back and locked my bedroom door, then they tricked me into coming out by saying dinner was ready (if i was smart and looked at the clock, it was only 5, and obviously dinner wasnt ready) so i opened my door, they ran in took my wallet again and my phone, then my ipod and locked themselves in the bathroom. little rats lol
i finally got them to give it back.. then i watched more of the movie, had dinner, and now i am just sitting around wasting time.
and that is all that has happened.

so after my cuppa and toast, i showered, made myself smell nice, braided my hair and watched transformers three. well i am technically still watching it now, because it is soooooo long!
had a little nap while listening to the rain, such good weather to stay in bed.
and then the boys stole my wallet, i stole it back and locked my bedroom door, then they tricked me into coming out by saying dinner was ready (if i was smart and looked at the clock, it was only 5, and obviously dinner wasnt ready) so i opened my door, they ran in took my wallet again and my phone, then my ipod and locked themselves in the bathroom. little rats lol
i finally got them to give it back.. then i watched more of the movie, had dinner, and now i am just sitting around wasting time.
and that is all that has happened.

i was busy..

sorry for the late post! i was at a party last night, didn't have time to be bloggin' lol
so yesterday i watched one tree hill all day, and slept in until about 12. it was fantastic.
then i skyped with mumma bear, the last time for a couple of weeks, because their moving.
and i got ready to go to robyn's house, who is another aussie au pair, because she was having a party.
so anyways, clara and lauren picked me up and then we went and got alex aka 'frenchie' because he is from france, and has the worst english ever, it was like talking to a brick.
and so we are driving to robyn's and we all knew she had a pretty massive house right, so we are slowly driving down her street and we see this huge arse house with a big rock wall around it, and a huge entry way and we are all like 'fingers crossed this is her house' and it was!
and 'massive' wouldnt even do it justice.
this house belongs on mtv cribs.
huge! huge! huge!
the kitchen is like the size of our whole house. there are like 5 lounge rooms, the kids all have an ensuite attached to their rooms, there are three guest rooms, each with their own walk in robe of course - wouldn't have it any other way - and just random sitting areas around the place, tvs everywhere, and chandeleirs, and a pool with a pool house, the basement has a pool table and an air hockey table, with space for the eldest girl to do her dancing in front of a wall size mirror, it is just insane. oh and the mothers room!!!! walk in robe, looks like a department store.. picture rows of shoes against the wall, bags hanging everywhere, ball gowns, clothes and clothes and more clothes, it was bigger then my actual bedroom! i should have taken pictures..
so we did the usual 'party' stuff, went for a midnight swim in the dark and the rain, in our underwear.
then this morning lauren went to get her shoe out of the pool hahahaha and we found a dead mouse, in the pool! i was pretty much dry heaving at the thougt of us swimming in there with it, but the girls say that it wasn't there when we were, sure sure.
so then we watched dispicable me, dropped frenchie home, synced claras ipod from my itunes, and now i am eating vegemite on toast and having a cuppa.
will let you know how the rest of my day goes..

hellooooo weekend!
hello!
its the weekend! and i am so happy! i love weekends!
the kids went to their last day of camp today.. AND WE WERE FIRST TO THE BUS STOP! go us!
then i came home and did washing, cleaning etc
went around to karen's mum's and we sorted her book case and re arranged the office - it looks fantastic! i should go on those tv shows where they change and decorate your house before you sell.. i would be good at it i think.
and then i came home, worked out, showered and got the kids.
then we did colouring in and puzzles, watched tv and i made pizza for dinner.
then when i finished i met the girls at chilis for dinner, we had an awesome waiter, he was just like jack off will and grace, funny as.
then went to tcby - the countrys best yogurt - for desert.
oh and i got milk on my way home at the gas station and when i left and was at the traffic lights waiting to turn left, i casually look to my right - the lane which was going straight - and the guy in the car next to me, who was around my age, was just staring at me. full on staring - queue akward moment. it was soooooo akward. and of course the light took freakin forever to go green.
then i got home and chatted with my favourite sister, and my bestest friend.
and now i am so ready to sleep, and sleep and sleep for as long as i like, because its the weekend, and i do what i want. yay for weekends.

love thursdays..
hello!
today i got an email from grandma - an extremely long email - and she told me about everything happening back at home and was interested in the books i am reading.. what are they about, how long etc..
so i decided i would tell all of you.
'the private series' by kate brian -
there are 13 books and 2 prequels
they are about 300 pages long.
young adult books.
they are based in a boarding school 'easton acadamy' in connecticut
i would say it is a cross between gossip girl and pretty little liars
and it is told from the point of view from one girl, who ALOT of stuff happens too, which is the only thing you have to push aside, because the things that happen to her in the book would never happen to the one person in two years of their life, its a bit far fetched, but thats why i love it, because there are so many extreme situations. its a thriller, hence the reason i can't stop reading - i am always dying to know what will happen next.
so now you all know. and you can go and read them.
so anyway i told you i started #12 yesterday afternoon, well i finished it before i went to sleep.
started #13 this morning, finished it during lunch, and now i am reading #14, the last one, which is technically a prequel.
god they are good books.
we were the last to the camp bus, like always. i came home and did all the cleaning and then just chilled. i watched tv, went for a walk (it was another glorious day), had a nanna nap, almost choked on my lunch when i read the last page of the thirteeth book.. just the usual lol
i got the kids, we came home and hung out in the basement for a bit, watched tv then i cooked dinner.
then karen came home and we went to a family night at their camp.. it was fun.
karen and harrison went up as contenders for our team and karen had to find tiny teddys in a tub of chocolate pudding with her mouth in the quickest time, dropping them in harrisons hand. and they won! it was awesome.
now we are home, and i am waiting for jersey shore italia! hence the reason i love thursdays!

slack day..
hey!
i shall start by saying - i hope you all loved the first book! because you all obviously went out and got them like i have been telling you too, right? ha' my guess is no.. get them! now! like right now. have a morning tea break and go to the library.
i started book #11 this morning and started #12 about an hour ago..
i did do things other then reading though, like take the kids to camp (we were last to the bus AGAIN, we even tried to not be last and we still were. its like no matter how hard we try to be quick we just can't.. better luck tomorrow hopefully)
came home and cleaned, did the washing and then worked out.
had a shower and washed my filthy hair - it had been four days! and you could tell, bleh. so that was refreshing.
i watched one tree hill, read my book, had a nanna nap, picked up the kids and made their lunches for tomorrow while they snacked and then just when we were about to go and play outside (it was such a nice day, hot but not too hot with a cool breeze, perfect chasies weather) one of kids friends mum called and asked if the three youngest wanted to go to the park and then friendlys for dinner with them... so 10 minutes later they got picked up.
so harrison and i just chilled all afternoon.
and now i am tired. not sure why? i had a nap, and didn't have the kids for most of the day.. hmm
so i might go to bed.

acomplished..
hello australia!
today was another great day.
although nothing exciting as my book coming in happened, i did finish #9 and start #10 this afternoon. are you realising that they must be the greatest books on earth if me - danielle abbott, the queen of not reading books ever, unless its for english, and even then its a struggle - is reading them at the pace of a book every four or so hours..
get the books!
so we are all in the car this morning ready for camp and had just gotten to the end of our street when i was going through the list of everything they needed and did they have it, when i say 'backpack with swimmers, towel, lunch and drink bottle' and garrett says, oh uhm actually i dont have my bag. kill me now.
really garrett, really?! we were already late as it was and so i had to find somewhere to turn around - hard because it is peak hour at 9 in the morning and no one would stop to let me reverse out of some randoms driveway... but anyway, we got the bag, and got to the bus - last, again, but still got there.
i came home and cleaned and then i went to karen's mum's where we got so much done! her filing cabinet was flowing of years and years worth of paper things, and slowly but surely we went through it all, and you should see it now!
then i stopped at stop and shop on the way home, got some super fruit antioxident amazingly refreshing icypoles (i could be a commercial for them right? haha) and a lettuce for dinner. we obviously didn't just have lettuce, it was for tacos.
got the kids from the bus and we played this card game until i cooked dinner and then i made sundaes for everyone and we watched 'mars needs mums' together.
then i finally got them all to bed, had to sing taylor swift with rachel, bribe matt, scratch garretts back and let harrison sleep downstairs (that was because his room still smells like paint from where karen touched up the roof a day ago) but i did do it. although rach is now in my bed next to me watching beauty and the beast on tv because she can't sleep... i see her dozing though, so she will be back in her own bed anyyyyy second now.
well i am going to have a cuppa and read my book.

p.s i miss yelling out to mum when i realise there is no toilet paper, whilst on the toilet. now i ALWAYS have to make sure there is extra in the cabinet next to the toilet, or i'm in trouble.

my books came in!!!!!!!!!!!
HEY!
^written in caps lock because i am just so happy.
my books came in at the library!
i was up to #8 but the library didn't have it and so they had to get it shipped in.. and so i couldn't keep reading the rest until it got here.. and at 2pm today i got a call saying it was in!
i could have died of happiness.
that is seriously how amazing these books are.
so i just finished reading the one that came in and have started #9.
if you haven't yet... READ THE PRIVATE SERIES!
i garantee it will be the best thing you do all year.
just do it, go to the library and borrow them.
so besides my major happiness over these books, i did actually get things done today.
made the kids lunches, packed bags, did breakfast and hair and then took the kids to their bus to go to camp.
came home and did the housework, washing and tidying and then went straight to karens mums to help her out.. did some organising and sorting and then she is having guests tonight so i helped make up the room and instead of just putting the towels on the end of the bed we made a twoel origami puppy! it was so cool!
stopped at the library to pick up my fantastic book, came home and read for a hour and then picked the kids up..
it was a pretty chill afternoon.. they watched tv, i read...
and then it was dinner, cleanup and finished.
just chilling in my room now.
oh and this morning when i woke up it was like i was in antarctica.. the house was freezing..
even my sheets inside my bed were cold.. i went downstairs and all the kids have dressing gowns on with blankets on them..
turns out the air con had dropped wayyyyyyyy below it was set and was now at an icy 14 degrees celcius..nothing like a chilling morning to start the day..
meanwhile outside was like 32 and humid as all hell..
and thats all.

not so good..
hey again..
so yes, i woke up feeling like death itself.
sat around for a while complaining about how hungry i was so we went to friendlys for lunch..
the place smelt like a nanna's house, bit off putting.
then i came home and got into bed..
lauren and i were going to go to see captain america this arvo but shes not up to it lol
so now i shall watch more one tree hill. yay.

got alot done.
hey!
today is friday! hurrah!
so happy its the weekend. can not wait to sleep in tomorrow.
i got up this morning, got the kids ready and dropped them off to camp and then came home to do washing.. just sheets and clothes today.
did some cleaning, unpacked the dishwasher, packed the kids stuff for their dads and then cleaned out my room.
all the other au pairs all seem to have left a few thinsg behind - just little bits and pieces - which have added up, so i went through it all to give myself more room in my desk draws for things.
then it was 12pm so i went to karens mums to help her organise more stuff.
came home, got the kids and they went with their dad then i watched one tree hill.
i am starting from season one and watching the all again, because i have nothing better to do. and because lucas scott is hot.
then i got ready for dinner with the girls..
we went to a mexican place for a goodbye party for four of the girls that are leaving.
came home and skyped with mum, and am about to go to bed because my head is throbbing.

washing.
hello!
so this morning the kids went to camp, and i started washing, sheets, towels, clothes.. and alot of it.
remade all the beds, cleaned the bathroom floor and then skyped with mum and tanya for a while.
then i just hung around. and watched jersey shore.
its my guilty pleasure.. i could watch it all day.
did my workout, went and picked the kids up and then we played in the basement making forts and cubbies until i put dinner on.
and now i am on skype again with mum, because there is nothing on tv. out of 70 or so channels you wuld think there would be at least one program worth watching, but no.
so i might have an early night tonight.

sorting..
hey!
well this morning the kids went to camp (we got there ahead of time today) and then i came home, child free, and started tidying up..
then i went to karen's mums house to help her organise a few things in her office. got there, and one of the kids cousins had forgotten her lunch at camp, so i offered to take it there for her, stopped to get subway on the way back to karen's mums and then we started sorting and sorting and sorting..
then i came home, and watched pretty little liars, finished book #7, and i don't have #8 yet because the library doesn't have it in, i am already going through withdrawels.. god help me when i finish the series.
then i went and got the kids, we came home and they had a playdate with one of their friends.
made dinner, and then i was finished for the day.
i downloaded some music, and watched toddlers and tiaras - show is absolutely amazingly gob smacking.. like seriously, poor little girls.
oh and when i picked up the kids today this is mine and rachels conversation while the boys played on the jungle gym -
rach - i'm worried
me - what are you worried about?
rach - my tooth..
me - oh? does it hurt?
rach - no.. its in my tummy.
me - uhmmm okayyyy? did you loose it today?
rach - yeah it fell out while i was eating my cookies..
me - how did you know it was gone?
rach - well i could feel my gum where a tooth should have been.
hahahaha this was all in complete seriousness.
so tonight she wrote a note to the tooth fairy, which i took a picture of and i will upload it on fb, so you can all see it. cutest thing ever.

p.s harrison also lost a tooth today - his was more on purpose though, chewing on sticky toffee stuff.
well this morning the kids went to camp (we got there ahead of time today) and then i came home, child free, and started tidying up..
then i went to karen's mums house to help her organise a few things in her office. got there, and one of the kids cousins had forgotten her lunch at camp, so i offered to take it there for her, stopped to get subway on the way back to karen's mums and then we started sorting and sorting and sorting..
then i came home, and watched pretty little liars, finished book #7, and i don't have #8 yet because the library doesn't have it in, i am already going through withdrawels.. god help me when i finish the series.
then i went and got the kids, we came home and they had a playdate with one of their friends.
made dinner, and then i was finished for the day.
i downloaded some music, and watched toddlers and tiaras - show is absolutely amazingly gob smacking.. like seriously, poor little girls.
oh and when i picked up the kids today this is mine and rachels conversation while the boys played on the jungle gym -
rach - i'm worried
me - what are you worried about?
rach - my tooth..
me - oh? does it hurt?
rach - no.. its in my tummy.
me - uhmmm okayyyy? did you loose it today?
rach - yeah it fell out while i was eating my cookies..
me - how did you know it was gone?
rach - well i could feel my gum where a tooth should have been.
hahahaha this was all in complete seriousness.

average day..
hey!
so the kids were off to camp this morning, only JUST got to the bus, the kids were taking absolutely forever to get ready and get in the actual car, but we did it, and everything turned out fine.
so then i came home and started the large amount of washing (i had underestimated just how much there was to do), made beds, washed towels, swept floors and unpacked the dishwasher.
then i skyped with mum, who is in thailand, but is leaving tomorrow.
hm what else, well i worked out, and then folded washing, put toys away, then folded washing, made a banana smoothie, picked the kids up from the bus, then started more washing (their towels and swimmers from camp) and then we played outside for a while before i started cooking dinner. pork chops and rice.
then after a very long and unsettled dinner, karen was home and i was off duty.
so i met lauren at tcby for some frozen yogurt, which we got $1 off each because we sung a glee song to the girl at the register.. score! it was some promotion thing they were doing.
then to starbucks to meet up with the other au pairs, it is crazy at the moment... there are SO many new au pairs, and it is so ahrd to remember all their names.
now i am home, ready to keep reading my book (#6) which just keeps getting better.
i swear these books are the greatest on earth.

out and about..
hello australia!
this morning was the first day of camp! hallalujah!
the kids go basically for school hours on school days, for the next two weeks!
god bless america and summer camp.
not that i don't love hanging with the kids and all, but it has been a loooooong two weeks of having them full time.
so i got their lunch packed, and their swimmers and towels, they had breakfast and got dressed, and then i dropped them off to where the bus picks them up. karen came too, because she took the day off work, and then i dropped karen home and went to the mall.
yes, by myself.
which i love because i can take my time, do what i want, eat when i want, not hang around and wait for other people in the dressing rooms, but i was also a loner. i wish chloe was there. i miss shopping with her.
i did restrain myself though and only bought two pieces of clothing - a new pair of jeans from american eagle, they were on sale $40, and a cuffed, loose sweater thing, for when it cools down again, from forever 21 for $11, and a necklace too.
then after strollinga round for quite a while, i was on my way to the toilet, and of course, i got distracted. a man was outside an italian place giving people little garlic bread samples, so when he stopped me i tried one and instantly went inside - good marketing if you ask me. and it was so cheap! and so yummy! i got a slice of pizza, with a side ceasar salad and a drink for $7.
finally ended up going to the toilet, then i went to the library to return book number 2 & 3 and borrow the rest. turns out there are 14 in the series, i read #5 this afternoon and just started #6.
then i went and picked up the kdis at 4, came home, and then did all my usual monday cleaning. tidying, sweeping, putting away, bathrooms..etc. made dinner and read more of my book.
now i am ready to sleep.. hopefully before 10:30, i'm so tired.
