hey!
so today was the BIG DAY, that hurricane irene would come and wreck havoc.. ha' hardly.
it was one big huge day of nothing where i live.
the wind barely reached 30km/h, it rained here and there, and it was pretty much just an average stormy day.
could not believe it. i was actually excited to see trees blowing wildly in the wind... but no.
and i live on a mainish road which is normally quite loud but today was extremely quiet because no one was driving anywhere.
and so all day i stayed inside.
i woke up at 4am this morning and skyped with mum for a bit on my ipod, and watched the weather channel to see what was going on, then went back to sleep.
woke at at eight and still nothing much was going on weather wise, woke up again at almost 12..
then i just watched tv and facebooked, waiting for irenes arrival.
nothing, slept again, 3pm nothing, 4pm nothing...
and so then we decided we would go out and do something. so lauren, alex, julia, linnea and i went to chilis for dinner.
before hand we went to stop and shop to get a few things and all the employees and randoms were standing outside the shop, so i wound down my window to see what was going on, and the fire alarm had been set off - falsely though. so left we left..
we get to chilis, order, have our drinks and the power went out.
so we had to go. we were going to go to the movies but the power was out there too, so we went to the ialian place and there was an hour wait. so we went to friendlys and the line was out the door.
the reason so many people were out to dinner is because heaps of people lost power.. therefore not being able to cook dinner.
so we went to five guys burgers and fries, and it wasn't super busy..
best burgers!
then we went back to stop and shop which also had no power, but you could still shop. (there were like back up lights on)
and so i got hair treatment and soap and a face mask and then get to the check out at the lady says they are doing cash only... super.
i never ever ever carry cash with me.
so i had to leave it all behind.
and now i am home drinking a cuppa and watching the VMA's on MTV.
