happy mothers day australia!
i would first of all like to say - mum, i love you. you are the best mum that i could ever ask for. i am so grateful for everything that you have ever done for me. i love you so much.
and to my grandmas and auntys and cousins and all the other mums reading this, i hope you have a glorious day, you deserve it. and you too nanny, i hope you have a glass of whiskey, a fag and a deck of cards, wherever you are now.
okay, moving right along..
this morning i was supposed to work because all four kids are here and they all play baseball on saturdays, but karen decided last night that i could sleep in and do whatever for the day. woo.
but i got up at 8:15 anyway to help get them all dressed, breakfasted (not even a word), and out the door.
when they left i had porridge, which i absolutely love, and watched tv for an hour or so before i went back to bed until about 11.
then i went shopping. and i know, its weird that i went alone, but i enjoy the time to myself. its nice to walk around at your own pace and not feel like your burdening anyone else with how long you take to try on fifty different tops.
so i went to the shoppes at farmington valley, quick side note - its a little like village of shops and they are perfectly landscaped with trees that have fairy lights in them for night time, and the soft music as you walk around between shops, and the warm sun, plenty of parking - its just nice, and i love being there.
so first i brought a book, yes a book. i know i don't read and all that unless its for english class, but today i went to a bookshop and got peace, love and baby ducks by lauren myracle. its about two sisters who are complete opposites but still bestfriends. its pretty good so far.
so then i got a chai latte from the starbucks, conveniently located inside the bookshop and sat and read for a while. then i brought a stunning necklace and a pair of earrings from franschesca, two t-shirts from american eagle, a dog play toy for izzy from some pooch place, side note - the place sells little bakery items for dogs that are completely human and dog friendly. so you could totally eat them if you wanted to.
oh and i also went to kohls and got a jumper, $30 reduced to $6. didn't really need it but who can say no to a bargain like that right?
and speaking of kohls, everything was on sale, absolutely everything. i was going to buy chloe these really hot heels, vera wang of course, that were 80% off so they were only $13.98!!!!!!!! vera wang people!
butttt i didn't know her size, and my guess was an 8 but they only had 8 and a half so i couldn't get them.
and i know your all thinking why didn't she get them for herself?! but now think back to the last time you saw me and remember how tall i am.. without an added 3 inch stiletto. and that is why i buy heels for my little, and substantially shorter, sister.
so after all my shopping i had worked up an appetite so i went to panera bread, a little cafe place. sooooo bloody good. i got a juice and a chicken panini (don't you just love that word? panini haha..cracks me up everytime i say it) and it was devine. and only cost $6.99. gotta love a cheap lunch.
so then i came home, read a little, had a shower and skyped with mumma bear. i tried to show her a couple of squirrals playing outside my window but she couldn't see them through the flyscreen and they kind of blend into the tree trunks.
and then i watched a couple of episodes of greys anatomy and now i am writing my blog before i get too tired and don't feel like writing in any great detail.
oh and yesterday i forgot to tell you that i have been with my host family for a month now! time flys.
umm so thats about it.
have a great mothers day.
love you all! x
