hey!
so today is memorial day, pretty much just the same as anzac day, but for america.
so when i woke up its was pouring rain and there was thunder and lightning, so the parade/march got cancelled which the boys were supposed to be in (for scouts) so we went to a wreath laying at the community centre instead.
the boys wore their cute scout uniforms and rach wore a blue and white stars with red bows dress, with a red, white and blue hair thing, soooo cute! & i have photos.
at the ceremony, when the guys came in with their big flag pole things, one of them almost belted down the disco ball that was hanging from the roof, i had to stop myself from cracking up.
and when their national anthem was sung, no one else sung along like we do in aus.
then we came home so the kids could put on play clothes, and have a snack before we went to skips for a "cook-out". which is different to a barbie because its hotdogs and hamburgers and chicken, not steak and sausages..
went to skips, and it was just a really relaxing afternoon.. eating, mucking around, chatting.
so at around 6, i brought the twins home in the van and karen took matthew and harrison to baseball for harrisons game.
so we are driving home and this is mine and rachels conversation, just when we are about to get home -
R- danielle can you please pull over?
D - uhm why?
R - because i need to un buckle..
D - how come?
R - because my undies have gone up my bum and i really need to pull them out
D - hahahahahahahahahaha! so you have a wedgie?
R - noooo, my undies are up my bum.
D - yeah, thats called a wedgie. but i can't pull over so you will have to wait till we are home.
R - nope, dont worry, i got it!
and that was the funniest thing that happened all day.
so we got home, the kids helped me clean out the van (i might vaccum it tomorrow), and then they showered and watched tv. while i started my three loads of washing, unpacked from this afternoon, made their lunches for tomorrow and had a shower. because i was sweating like a pig. it was super hot today.
and three police cars just zoomed past my house.. something is going downnnn.
oh and thsi morning karen was telling me what time we were going to the memorial and she said "20 of 11" and i'm like what, is that like 20 to 11, and it is, and thats what they say here..
and an esky is a cooler..
and a stubby holder is called a koozie..
so thats all a bit funny.
anways i am exhusted, and because i missed out on doing all the housework today i have to do it tomorrow, need to get my rest.
miss you! xxxxxxx
p.s i scored a perfect round in footy tipping on the weekend!
