happy 4th of july!

guten tag!
well today is 4th of july! so karen was home for the day, but i still worked.
i got up at 8, no kids were awake, went downstairs, 8:30 still no kids, 9 matt wakes up, 9:30 the twins finally get out of bed, so i actually had something to do - make breakfast.
oh by the way, harrison has gone on scout camp for a week.
so we watched ghost busters two then went to the library to join up for the summer reading program, but silly us, its closed of course for the holiday.
so we went to the kids school to play on the playground (i had to call karen to make sure this was okay because in aus, thats not allowed, and i didn't really feel the need to be put into jail today).
then we came home, had lunch and then did some art.
rachel and i decorated the 'welcome danielle' poster that i had in my room when i first got here, while G did a painting and matt made a lemonade sign.
so the kids set up a lemonade stand at the end of the drive way, 25 cents a cup, and the business was up and running. so i decided to dress up with cricket shin pads on, a big huge old man jacket, big goggle things and an army cap, whilst riding a horse (the horse head on a stick one, duh) up around the front of the house and down the street to the stand where i pretended to be from a different country (didn't really have to pretend) and just happened to stumble upon their lemonade lol
now obviously they knew it was really me, but it was still funny.
i was just praying the whole time that no one pulled up.
so after an hour or so of selling, they made $4.25 profit, we got ready for the pool, where they spent the split up money to buy an icecream.
we swam, played and then came home to have a "cook-out" for 4th of july.
then we had a fire, and fireworks and sparklers, and then i made my first s'more! they are delicious.
oh and i skyped with chloe for a bit as well.
now i am worn out and ready for bed.
