hey!
today was exhusting. to say the least.
i got up at 8ish to find the kids eyes glued to the tv.. pryed them away for 2 seconds to make them eat breakfast and then it began...
think of the worst thing you have had to do, times it by four, add some impatience, a little bit of crying and a few screams and ta-da, you have what i experienced today.
i had to go through each childs wardrobe (actually closet, they say closet here and i keep forgetting) with them, and get them to try on every single piece of clothing they own. and when i say every piece, i mean like, 5000 shirts, 2000 pants 500 sweatshirts.. you get the idea. oh by the way, a sweatshirt is a jumper. and sweatpants are trackies.. just for further occasions.
now take a huge sigh of relief knowing that you didn't have to do this today lol
it was tough, but eventually we got four huge piles of clothes that didn't fit and the kids didn't want anymore.
now i know your all thinking, wow poor girl would have needed a rest after that, but ohhhh nooooo. guess what we did next?
we all had lunch, made by me, and then went to the indoor heated pool a few towns over.
it was me and my four kids, plus their nine other cousins with their nanna and aunty. so it became three adults versus thirteen children under the age of eleven.
getting them in the pool was the easy part. swimming for two hours was also bearable.. but getting out and ready to go.. lorrrdddyyyy!
soaking wet, hungry, sore eyed little children hudled into a change room with me trying to get them dry and dressed. now take another huge sigh of relief that that wasn't you either.
so then when we got home we played for a bit and then i cooked dinner and then we played again and now they are sleeping, hurrah!
oh and i just might mention that it was my first time driving a mini van thing, with four kids inside, on a highway, on the wrong side of the road.. i think its fair to say i top the best drivers list (for those of you reading from school) :)
well i think that just about does it.
p.s i will be quite happy if i never see another piece of lego or playdough again in my life. lol
p.p.s its really not as bad as it sounds, i am really enjoying it, i just make it dramatic for your entertainment :)
night! x
Wow....what a day....lol....I hope this makes you not want kids for a while and only want one or two when you do :) Can't wait to see you on Skype this weekend. Love you lots xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteDo you realize who I am? I am loving your daily jottings and am beginning to think that you could show Maria from Sound of Music a thing or two about being a nanny although she did have 7 and you have only 4 kiddies to care for - not many when you say it quick!
